Hush is a 2016 American Slasher film, staring a young woman called Maddie, who is deaf and without the ability to talk. One night a masked killer chases her friend to her house, killing her then noticing that madison is deaf, continuing to terrorise her for the night.
The genre is an American Slasher. I know this first of because of the setting, it takes place in a cabin in the woods, which are commonly based in america.
